Wedding Stationery Checklist: Everything You Need to Print for Your Big Day
Your wedding stationery sets the tone for your entire day. It is the first thing your guests see — and it gives them a glimpse of the style, elegance, and personality you are bringing to your celebration.
Your wedding stationery sets the tone for your entire day. It is the first thing your guests see — and it gives them a glimpse of the style, elegance, and personality you are bringing to your celebration.
Getting your stationery organised well in advance is one of the best things you can do to reduce stress in the run-up to your wedding. Here is a complete checklist of everything you might need, along with our recommended timeline.
Save the Dates
Save the dates should go out 6–12 months before the wedding, especially if you have guests travelling from far away. They are typically a simple card or postcard letting people know the date and location — formal invitations come later.
Wedding Invitations
Invitations should be sent 8–12 weeks before the wedding. This is your most important printed item — it sets the full tone of your event.
At Aximiz, we offer both flat and folded wedding invitations. Folded invites give you more space for wording and feel more premium, while flat invites have a clean, modern look. Both are printed on high-quality card stock.
What to include on your invitation:
- Names of the couple
- Date, time, and location of the ceremony
- Location of the reception (if different)
- RSVP deadline and contact details
- Dress code (if applicable)
- Wedding website URL (if you have one)
RSVP Cards
Including a pre-addressed RSVP card makes it easy for guests to respond and increases the likelihood they actually will. Include a response deadline, and optionally a meal choice selection if you are offering a set menu.
Order of Service
Your order of service guide walks guests through the ceremony. It typically includes the order of hymns or readings, the names of the wedding party, and any other key moments. We offer both flat and booklet versions — booklets are great for longer ceremonies or if you want to include song lyrics and readings in full.
Wedding Menus
Printed menus on each guest's place setting add a beautiful, polished touch to your reception tables. Our wedding menus are printed on premium card and can be designed to match your invitation suite perfectly.
Table Names or Numbers
Whether you are naming your tables after places, songs, or memories — printed table names or numbers tie the room together. We print these on card stock and can match your stationery style.
Place Names
A personalised place name card for each guest is a lovely detail that also helps with seating logistics. Keep the font consistent with your other stationery.
Welcome Board
A large printed welcome board at the entrance to your venue is a beautiful and practical addition — it can display your names and wedding date, a seating chart, or a welcome message.
At Aximiz, our welcome boards are printed on foam board or aluminium for a premium, professional finish.
Thank You Cards
Post-wedding, thank you cards are a must. Send them within 4–6 weeks of your wedding while the memories are still fresh. A well-designed card with a personal handwritten note is always appreciated.
